Textile Artist and BHT Designer
I was always attracted to color and fabric. I won sewing prizes at school and became an art major at High School. From there, I studied at the Ilam School of Fine Arts in Christchurch, New Zealand. Longing to get on the road after college, I began to paint and decorate clothing to fund my world adventures.  3 years later after travelling around the world and hawking handpainted  t-shirts to earn travel funds, I ended up in Scandanavia. In Stockholm, Sweden I completed a two year screenprinting apprenticeship and on returning to New Zealand , started a successful handpainted and screenprinted T-shirt company called 'Hippi Pipi T-Shirts’.  This label, featuring images of New Zealand, was marketed throughout New Zealand by a large Duty Free Company, Regency Duty Free.

After moving to Boston in 1998 I met up with Marie Favorito and began to study Tai Chi at the Boston Healing Tao. Soon a BHT t-shirt was in the works, and many more have followed. Marie tells me her ideas for a shirt and I translate them into the final product. Each shirt is individually handpainted and colored and made with that special BHT Chi!

I also am an Art Quilter and have won prizes at International Quilt competitions that I have entered with my Austin, TX award winning art quilt group.
